Lola puts Equilibirum Boots to the test.
Molly, a member of our shop team, purchased a pair of white Equilibrium All-Sport boots for her now 6-year-old 14.2hh Appaloosa, Lola, 2 years ago. Since stocking Equilibrium products, Molly wanted to share her experience with the boots as she’s put them through their paces.
How long have you had the boots for?
“I’ve had them for 2 years now and they are showing no signs of wear, I use them 2-3 times a week on a regular basis for just about everything including hacking, cross-country, show jumping and lunging.”
How did you find the sizing?
“I loved the sizing, I found that it was true to size and the range was really good as they offer short and long options which I found really helpful. Lola is quite slim in her legs, so I went for pony size on her front legs and cob on her back legs as I found they fit the best.”
What made you buy them?
“I can use them for everything! I wanted a good pair of lightweight, breathable, protective boots that were going to look after my pony’s legs, especially as she was a 4 year old when I got her. As I wanted to do a bit of everything I didn’t want to buy different boots for different disciplines so I thought they would be the best fit for me. The reviews I read from people using them for cross-country as well, they really don’t hold onto water so even after you’ve been through a water jump they don’t really get any heavier which is perfect! They are also incredibly light but offer so much protection which is what I was worried about when I went cross-country with a young horse.”
Did you do any research before you got them?
“Yes, as I wanted as nice all-round boot especially for cross country, everything was either neoprene or fluffy which slipped down and got heavy when going through water and I found that didn't happen with the Equilibrium boots.”
What do you think about the overall look of them?
“When I first saw them, I thought, I’ve never seen any other boots that look like this. It made me want to find out why and now after understanding how breathable they are and how they don’t hold water it makes so much sense. After having them for so long now I don’t really think about it but the practically part was more important to me than how they looked.”
So you've had them for 2 years, how have they held up?
“Amazing, I've had them for two years and not properly washed them yet! If I’m in the arena and they get sandy I just tap them against each other and all the sand comes out. If they’ve ever gotten really muddy, I just rinse them off and it comes straight off. They are so easy to keep, even with them being white they still look as good as when I got them.”
Would you recommend Equilibrium boots to other equestrians?
“Yes, they're so practical and they do exactly what they say they do. They are my go-to boots and an essential part of my tack. I can’t recommend them enough!”
